Car Observation

Number of cars drive through street from 2.15pm – 2.45pm
78 cars
The street is relatively quiet, the further up the street towards Place d’Italie the number of cars increases and as you walk down the street away from Place d’Italie the cars start to turn off to the right or left. The majority of cars parked on the street are practical cars suggesting many families live around the area. They also are average priced cars signifying the people of that area are middle class.

Possible sites

Park opposite pool – the park opposite pool doesn’t seem to engage with the pool or the paths around it. It is very plain and from observing I could see that people mainly used the park next to it which is rich with greenery or used it for the water fountain. The spaces in this park seem to lack character and use the space to its potential.
Pool
– The pool is a great landmark in the area yet is out of date, and could do with regeneration to bring more people to it.
Park at the end of the street – is in a great location and if obviously used by the community due to it being located between there streets. It still could be rengerated, as I noticed that at the end of the street where the park is located it is very quiet and has fewer pedestrians. By regenerating the park and by focusing on bringing people to the park the area would become livelier. Many families live around the area yet the park isn’t used to its potential. There are areas within the park that are rejected to due to the layout and formation of the spaces. The toilet block located in the park are outdated and unhygienic, therefore a regeneration of toilets would be necessary.
Nation building – the building creates a large stance on the street due to its location and positioning. It faces on to a small crossroads with a pedestrian area and curves round the street. From its façade and quality of the building its it indicates that the building is disused and due to its location I feel it has huge potential to have an impact on the street.
